James Remington collided with something soft, emanating the intoxicating scent of heaven.

“Pardon me.” He looked down to see cropped hair and a knockout body.

The vision gave him an apologetic smile and he experienced a punch to the gut.

She was stunning.

Petite in a rust-colored silk suit and high heels that would give any heterosexual man a hard-on, he reached out to steady her, but a familiar voice stopped him.

“James?”

He turned to the distinguished, grey haired gentleman at her side—his longtime acquaintance, Philip Wiley.

“Kaelin, this is James Remington. He’s the station manager for—”

“Yes, I know who Mr. Remington is.”

Her warm smile made him wonder about the rest of her. Smooth skin, bearing just a touch of makeup, brought out her features. Lovely. Her short, mink colored hair framed expressive light brown eyes and high cheekbones. He couldn’t help but trail his gaze down her incredible body. A beautiful long neck topped full breasts that would be a perfect fit for his palms. He wondered if her nipples were pale pink or dusky coral, and he imagined suckling them to wild abandonment. Her body should be a crime, and he’d have no problem helping her break a few laws.

A pale pink flush crept up Kae’s face while Philip’s donned the red of brewing anger.

What the hell was wrong with him? He’d been celibate far too long. He made a mental note to take care of that very soon.

The trio realized they were blocking the entrance, so they moved a few feet to the sidewalk.

“I just finished telling my father about my new job at your station hosting a sales show.” She beamed. Philip did a double take and his face became even redder.

She appeared to reach for some phantom strand of hair. Long, slender fingers brushed by a lush, tantalizing mouth capable of bringing men to their knees. She had the perfect face for the camera. One look and she’d have the viewers in the palm of her hand.

“Well, I look forward to seeing you, Kae.” He frowned. Philip’s enigmatic expression piqued his curiosity.

Philip cleared his throat. “Yes, yes. Well, I’d love to stay and chat, James, but I have a meeting in less than half an hour. I’ll have to catch up with you soon though. Shall we meet at the gym on Friday, about ten a.m.? Let’s call it a chance to win back the fifty dollars from our last handball game.”

Confusion gnawed at James. He’d never played handball with Philip. More was going on here than met the eye, and he intended to find out why the older man had lied to him. Come hell or high water, he’d be at the gym on Friday.

“I look forward to it.” They shook hands. Philip gave a curt nod and walked away without a backward glance at his daughter.

James turned to Kae, who watched him with something akin to amusement. “I hope we’ll meet again, Mr. Rem—”

“James,” he corrected, and took her hand. For some reason, he couldn’t bear to let go. He leaned in close to her to get one last hint of her scent.

“Goodbye, James.” She smiled, squeezed his hand, and followed her father.

He enjoyed a last look at those shapely legs of hers as she slid into Philip’s car, not surprised to realize he was hard. He lifted his palm to his nose, inhaling the scent of rose, mixed with something a little wild, and made a tight fist to savor the essence of Kae Wiley.

Shaking off his arousal, he entered the restaurant and recounted what had transpired in the past few moments. An unhappy—possibly angry—Philip Wiley and his charming, sexy daughter had chatted with him. What was wrong with this picture? What didn’t add up?

Sliding his cell phone out of his inner suit pocket, he punched in the speed dial number for his assistant back at the station. As a man who made his living by being observant, a tiny voice at the back of his mind told him which position the sexy Kaelin Wiley had just snagged.

And it wasn’t selling pots and pans on the Kitchen Channel.
